Addis Ababa, May 8, 2024 (FBC) – A delegation from Ethiopia, led by Customs Commission Commissioner Debele Kabeta, is attending the 6th World Customs Organization’s Global Conference of Authorized Economic Operators (AEOs) in Shenzhen, China.
The conference is expected to focus on discussions related to empowering women in international business and leveraging technology for managing risks in international trade.
Alongside the conference, an exhibition is being held to raise awareness about economic operators who have been granted special privileges, as well as to strengthen partnerships.
It was noted that the Ethiopian Customs Commission has identified 199 organizations that have been verified through audits to be trustworthy in complying with domestic tax and other laws. These organizations have been designated as low-risk and are being provided with expedited and priority customs services.
