Addis Ababa, February 12, 2020 (FBC) –Ethiopia’s Minister of Urban Development and Construction Engineer Aisha Mohammed held discussion with Maimunah Mohd Sharif, Executive Director of UN‐Habitat.
The discussion was held on the sidelines of the 10th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF), which is underway in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Engineer Aisha told the Executive Director that Ethiopia has designed 12 new projects that are believed to bring changes in urban areas.
The government is committed to execute the projects that are shaped in line with the 10-year master plan, she said.
The Ethiopian Minister requested UN‐Habitat’s support for the implementation of the projects.
Stating the importance of properly managing the growing urbanization, Maimunah Mohd Sharif expressed UN‐Habitat’s readiness to provide support to Ethiopia’s urban projects.
She also commended Ethiopia’s on-going efforts to bring transformation in urban areas.
