Ethiopian Airlines receives the Four-Star Global Airline Award

Addis Ababa, November 18, 2024 (FBC) – Ethiopian Airlines, Africa’s leading aviation group, today announced that it has received the Four-Star Global Airline award at the 2025 APEX Passenger Choice Awards.

This accolade highlights Ethiopian Airlines’ unwavering commitment to delivering a service that meets global standards to its passengers across more than 140 international destinations, the Airline said in an official press release.

As a SKYTRAX four-star global airline, Ethiopian said it is “proud to attain this honor at the 2025 APEX Passenger Choice Awards”, further reinforcing its reputation as a customer-centric service provider.

“We are truly honored to receive the prestigious ‘Four-Star Global Airline’ title once again,” said Mr. Mesfin Tasew, CEO of Ethiopian Airlines Group. “This award underscores Ethiopian Airlines’ determination to uphold the highest levels of service. We are thrilled to have our efforts recognized once more, motivating us to strive for even greater achievements.”

The APEX Five Star and Four-Star Airline Awards stand as the only global accolades entirely based on impartial, third-party passenger feedback and insights collected through APEX’s partnership with TripIt® from Concur®, the world’s most widely used travel-organizing app. For the 2025 Awards, over one million Passenger Name Record (PNR) verified flights were rated by passengers across more than 600 airlines globally, utilizing a five-star scale.

Moreover, the APEX Five Star and Four-Star Airline Awards are independently verified by a professional external auditing company.

In 2025, the evaluation criteria have been refined, allowing APEX Five Star to be awarded exclusively to the Top 40 airlines worldwide, a privilege that encompasses less than 7% of rated airlines. Similarly, APEX Four Star has been streamlined to include the next 50 airlines globally, indicating that only 8% of airlines worldwide meet these stringent criteria. This marks a significant achievement for Ethiopian Airlines, placing it in the highest echelon of the aviation industry.
