Addis Ababa, September 29, 2022 (FBC) – Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a biweekly press briefing, stated that Ethiopia has well utilized the 77th Session of UN General Assembly to throw light on its causes in the light of latest developments in the country.
Ambassador Meles Alem, Spokesperson of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told journalists that Ethiopia has better communicated its stance on the conflict in the north and construction process of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD).
Represented by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Demeke Mekonnen, the nation highlighted the importance of the “African Solution to African Problems” as the appropriate mechanism to peacefully resolve the conflict in the north and ensure equitable and reasonable use of natural resources, Ambassador Meles said.
Ambassador Meles Alem added that bilateral discussions have also been conducted leaders of close to 20 countries on ways of enhancing ties between Ethiopia and the respective countries.
Moreover, the Spokesperson said that Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and President of Republic of Somalia Hassan Sheik Mohamud discussed on how to collaborate at regional level fighting terrorism and boosting cooperation between the two nations in trade and economic sectors.
