Addis Ababa, February 23, 2024 (FBC) – Ethiopia has unveiled a project worth 180 million USD to spur agricultural development in various regional states.
The project is said to be implemented by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
During the launching ceremony, the Agriculture Minister, Girma Amente (PhD), stated that the project will be carried out in Sidama, Oromia, Tigray, Somali and Afar regions.
According to the minister, the project will help address challenges caused by drought conditions and enhance irrigation farming and improve livelihoods of farmers in beneficiary regions.
Moreover, the project is said instrumental in strengthening ongoing efforts to realizing green development in the country.
