Ethiopia, Türkiye discuss ways of deepening ties in field of justice

Addis Ababa, January 23, 2024 (FBC) – The Minister of State for Justice at the Ministry of Justice, Mr. Belayhun Yirga, engaged in a discourse today with the Ambassador of Türkiye to Ethiopia, Berk Baran, to deliberate on avenues for augmenting bilateral relations, particularly in the realms of crime prevention and education.

Within the course of their deliberations, Mr. Belayhun Yirga affirmed the readiness of his government to perpetuate the enduring ties between Ethiopia and Türkiye, expressing eagerness to collaborate across diverse domains.

The State Minister underscored the imperative for the ongoing collaboration in furnishing capacity-building training to prosecutors and police officers, as well as exchanging expertise in crime investigation. Highlighting the multifaceted reform initiatives underway in Ethiopia over the past three years, he asserted that partnering with Türkiye would contribute significantly to the success of these reform endeavors.

Ambassador Berk Baran, in response, assured the State Minister of sustained cooperation with Ethiopia in the aforementioned areas of focus.

It is indicated that both dignitaries affirmed their commitment to collaborative efforts aimed at fortifying the existing ties between the two nations.
