Addis Ababa, February 2, 2023 (FBC) – The Ethiopian Federal Police stated that the Ethiopian Police University is set to train 38 Somali police officers in various higher education programs.
The Ethiopian Federal Police welcomed the Somali police officers to acquire first degree and second degree in police science in Ethiopia.
Ethiopian Federal Police Commissioner, General Demelash Gebre-Michael has stated that the Ethiopian Police University has been contributing to the peace and security of the neighbouring countries and the East African region by training police officers for a long time.
The Commissioner General added that working together with the neighbouring countries and strengthening the police institutions through education and training will help counter cross-border crime.
Recall that recently the Commission signed an agreement with Somalia to enable young Somali police officers to receive education and training at the Ethiopian Police University.
According to the Federal Police, the Ethiopian Police University received 38 Somali police officers to teach in the first and second degree in various educational programs in the current academic year.
