Addis Ababa, January 31, 2020 (FBC) –The Government is set to repatriates about 2,281 voluntary Ethiopian nationals who have spent from 3-40 years in Kenya’s Kakuma and Dadaab refugee camps.
Preparations have been finalized to return them back to their country, said the Ethiopian embassy in Nairobi. The embassy held today consultation with representative of refugees.
Travel documents are being issued to them to start the repatriation in collaboration with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), it said.
About 17, 000 Ethiopian nationals are estimated to live in Kakuma and Dadaab refugee camps.
