Addis Ababa, January 16, 2020 (FBC) –Ethiopia’s Minister of Water, Irrigation and Energy, Dr Seleshi Bekele, met with Sudan’s Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources, Prof. Yasser Abbas in Khartoum, Sudan.
According to Sudan News Agency (SUNA), the two ministers reviewed the tripartite negotiations on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD).
They agreed to resume the negotiations, giving the AU experts greater role to bridge the gap in viewpoints in consultation with the Chairman and the AU Secretariat, it said.
Dr Seleshi also met the Sudan’s Prime Minister Abdalla Hamsdouk.
