Ethiopia, Sudan discuss economies, GERD issues

Addis Ababa, May 16, 2020 (FBC) –Prime Minister Dr Abiy Ahmed this morning received a high level delegation from Sudan led by Ambassador Omer Bahir Manees, Minister of Cabinet Affairs.

The two discussed on enhancing economic ties between the two countries and cooperation on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), according to office of the Prime Minister.

Moreover, they exchanged views on border issues, regional geopolitics and mitigating the effects of the coronavirus (COVID19) pandemic collaboratively.

The Sudanese delegation arrived in Addis Ababa yesterday.

Upon arrival at Bole International Airport, the delegation was welcomed by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gedu Andargachew and other high level officials.

The Sudanese delegation will participate in a two-day Ethio-Sudan high-level political consultation to be held as of today.
