Addis Ababa, November 26, 2022 (FBC) – Ethiopia and South Sudan announced renewed commitment of cooperation in peace and security matters.
The senior intelligence general officers of Ethiopia and South Sudan discussed on Saturday in Addis Ababa regarding continued cooperation of peace and security.
At the meeting, it was pointed out that Ethiopia and South Sudan will continue to work together in peace and security issues just as they work together in other spheres.
Major General Demsew Amenu of the Ethiopian National Defense Forces Intelligence Office pointed out that Ethiopia and South Sudan have a history of cooperation in various fields.
According to sources from Ministry of Defense, it is important and ideal to work together on security to maintain security in the future.
The Chief of Military Intelligence of the South Sudan Defense Force, Lt. General Marshal Stephen Babanen, said that Ethiopia and South Sudan have been working together to ensure the peace of the two countries and protect the region.
He pledged that they will continue to work in cooperation in peace and security matters.
As the people of Ethiopia and South Sudan share old history, culture and tradition, it was important to transform their relationship to benefit one another.
Hence, since peace and security are invaluable, both sides have reached a common consensus that there should be an intensive exchange of information between them.
