Ethiopia shares SDGs success stories at 2024 Interregional Seminar in China

Addis Ababa, August 29, 2024 (FBC) – A delegation from Ethiopia, led by Chief Government Whip Tesfaye Beljigie, participated in the 2024 Interregional Seminar on Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for Parliaments of Developing Countries, held in China from August 19 to 27, 2024.

The seminar, organized in collaboration with the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the National People’s Congress of China, brought together parliamentary representatives from various developing nations to explore strategies for enhancing SDG implementation through legislative cooperation.

During the seminar, Government Whip Beljigie highlighted Ethiopia’s progress in achieving the SDGs and emphasized the vital role of parliament in this success. The Ethiopian delegation actively engaged with legislative representatives from other countries to discuss methods for strengthening parliamentary collaboration.

Beljigie noted that China offers valuable insights into effective poverty reduction and economic transformation, urging all stakeholders to adopt these best practices to accelerate Ethiopia’s path toward prosperity.
