Ethiopia set to build transport museum: Minister

Addis Ababa, January 3, 2023 (FBC) – The Ministry of Transport and Logistics (MoTL) is making preparations to build a museum that explores the history, current state and future of transport and logistics in Ethiopia.

In the presence of the Minister of Transport and Logistics Mrs. Dagmawit Moges, the design of the museum was unveiled.

The Ministry’s social media post indicates that the massive transport museum planned to be built will display the land transport alternatives deployed by Ethiopia at different times.

It is also mentioned that the museum is expected to include historic vehicles, trucks, trains, buses and air transport as well as water transport and different transport options and materials used by Ethiopians in different eras.

In addition, it is also stated that the museum will exhibit the level of the world’s transportation development and indicate Ethiopia’s future transport and logistics aspirations.

It has been indicated that the realization of the museum will not only help citizens to understand the historical background of their country’s transport, but also provide information that can be accessed as a reference for researchers in the field of transport and logistics.

It is expected that the museum will serve as an additional tour option for local and foreign visitors.

The museum will be built in ​​Addis Ababa city, near the African Union Headquarter. It has been stated that the construction will commence soon.
