Addis Ababa, May 18, 2023 (FBC) – Ethiopia is doing effective work to broaden the scope of its diplomatic relations with Latin American, Caribbean and Central Asian countries, said Ambassador Meles Alem, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During his bi-weekly press briefing, Ambassador Meles Alem said that diplomatic activities are being carried out to maintain Ethiopia’s political relations with Colombia and Pakistan in various fields of cooperation.
Regarding the working visit of the Vice President of Colombia, Francia Elena Márquez Mina, to Ethiopia, the Spokesperson stated that during her stay, she had a fruitful discussion with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Demeke Mekonnen, on bilateral matters.
He also mentioned that the Ethiopian delegation, headed by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Misganu Arga, has paid a working visit to Pakistan last week, where the two countries signed MoU to cooperate in science and technology as well as other sectors.
Meles underscored that during the delegates stay in Karachi and Islamabad, diplomatic activities were undertaken to open a new chapter in trade, investment and people-to-people relations between Ethiopia and Pakistan.
