Addis Ababa, March 20, 2025 (FMC) — Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) told the House of Peoples’ Representative today that Ethiopia has secured 14.9 billion USD from various sources over the past eight months.
The stated foreign currency was obtained from export trade, remittance, Foreign Direct Investment and various services.
Accordingly, the premier said the country has obtained 4.5 billion USD from export trade during the past eight months of current fiscal year.
The revenue generated from export trade during the specified period surpasses each of all prior years.
The country has also obtained 3.7 billion USD from remittance, 4.7 billion USD from services and 2 billion USD from Foreign Direct Investment over the past eight months.
In term of domestic revenue, the premier revealed that the nation has collected 580 billion Birr in the past eight months.
Ethiopia has also been able to save 3.5 billion USD through debt restructuring efforts made as part of the macroeconomic reform activities.
