Addis Ababa, September 30, 2017 (FBC) – The Ministry of Trade and Regional Integration and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) have signed a project support agreement worth 10 million USD.
Country Director of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in Ethiopia, Cho Han Deog and Minister of Trade and Regional Integration, Kasahun Goffe (PhD), have signed the agreement.
The agreement aims to enhance the competitiveness of agricultural products and support related development activities in Ethiopia.
On the occasion, KOICA Country Director, Cho Han Deog, emphasized the historic bond between Ethiopia and South Korea, recalling Ethiopia’s contribution of over 6,000 Ethiopian soldiers who fought for the Republic of Korea during the Korean War.
Cho Han Deog expressed confidence that the new project agreement would further strengthen the friendship between the two nations and contribute to sustainable development and economic growth efforts in Ethiopia.
Minister of Trade and Regional Cooperation, Kasahun Gofe, highlighted that this agreement reflects the robust relationship between the two countries and will bolster their partnership.
The Minister added that the project will enhance Ethiopia’s quality infrastructure while improving the productivity of its agricultural sector.
