Ethiopia reports 170 new COVID-19 cases, three more deaths

Addis Ababa, June 10, 2020 (FBC) –Ethiopia reported 170 new cases of the coronavirus in the last one day, brings the total number of confirmed cases to 2,506.

The new cases were identified out of 6,187 laboratory tests conducted in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health.

Of the total new confirmed cases, 93 are male and 77 are female aged between 2 and 115 years, it added.

All the confirmed cases are Ethiopians and 81 of them are from Addis Ababa, 57 from Somali, 13 from Amhara, seven each from Tigray and Oromia, three from Harari and two from SNNP regional states.

Three more patients also died of the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths to 35. Some 22  people have also recovered from the virus, raising the total number of recoveries to 401.

There are now a total of 2,068 active cases in Ethiopia, with 32 of them in a severe condition. The total number of tests conducted since the onset of the virus now stands at 158, 521.
