Addis Ababa, June 16, 2020 (FBC) –The Ministry of Health has confirmed 129 new coronavirus cases and two deaths from the virus over the last twenty four hours.
The new cases taking the number of confirmed cases in the country to 3,759 have been identified from 5,274 samples tested over the last twenty four hours, Ministry of Health stated. And the death toll has reached 63.
The new cases reported today are all Ethiopians, with 79 being males and 50 females, and their age range from 1 to 70 years old.
According to the Ministry of Health, 111 more people have recovered from the disease increasing the number of recoveries in the country to 849.
From the total new cases, 85 are from Addis Ababa while the other 11 from Tigray, 10 from Somali, 7 from SNNP, 6 from Amhara, 5 from Oromia, 1 from Afar Regional States and the other 4 from Dire Dawa City Administration.
Ethiopia has conducted 197, 361 sample tests until today, and it holds a total of 2,845 active cases out of them 30 are receiving treatments in intensive care units.
