Addis Ababa, November 8, 2022 (FBC) – The Ministry of Labor and Skills (MoLS) announced that Ethiopia has received an international certificate of qualification for the welding, training and technology center (WTTC) satisfactory result from the International Institute of Welding (IIW), in South Africa.
Minister of Labor and Skills, Muferihat Kamil, in her social media post, stated that the Ethiopian Technical and Vocational Institute is the holder of an internationally recognized training qualification certificate.
This will expand employment opportunities for citizens trained in welding and increase the demand in the world market, she said.
Competency certificates are issued to the center’s trainees who are internationally qualified professionals.
The Minister delivered congratulatory message to the graduates and their families who have met the high quality standards and have received training from the center.
The Ethiopian center of excellence for welding is the only institute in East Africa. Following its full recognition by the international body, the Institute becomes Approved Training Body (ATB).
