Addis Ababa, January 3, 2025 (FMC) – Ethiopia is demonstrating its unwavering dedication to the ideals of the African Union (AU) and Pan-Africanism, as it prepares to host the upcoming 38th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government on February 15-16, and the 46th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council from February 12-13, Ambassador Muktar Mohamed Ware, Ethiopia’s envoy to Algeria, told POA.
He reportedly emphasized the country’s commitment to the AU’s objectives and its pride in hosting such a significant event.
Addis Ababa, the home of the Economic Commission for Africa and the AU headquarters, has undergone substantial infrastructural upgrades to provide a world-class experience for international visitors. Ambassador Muktar highlighted the importance of the city’s refreshed appearance as a reflection of Ethiopia’s role as a beacon of Pan-Africanism. This historic summit, he noted, is an opportunity for Ethiopia to further cement its status as a leader in continental unity and progress.
The ambassador reportedly expressed confidence in the event’s impact, emphasizing that it symbolizes Ethiopia’s rich legacy of independence and its steadfast commitment to Africa’s collective transformation.
