Addis Ababa, November 4, 2022 (FBC) – The Ethiopian delegation has donated medical equipment and medicines to Somalia’s Ministry of Health for citizens affected by the terrorist attack on October 29, 2022.
The Ethiopian delegation led by the Deputy Director General of the National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS), Sisay Tola, handed over medical supplies in Mogadishu to support treatment of the citizens affected by the terrorist attack.
NISS stated that members of the delegation from the NISS and Ministries of Defense, Foreign Affairs, Health expressed their deep sorrow over the attack by the Al-Shabaab terrorist group on October 29, 2022 in Mogadishu.
Deputy DG Sisay Tola expressed his condolences to the people and government of Somalia on behalf of Ethiopia.
He wished comfort and strength to the government and people of Somalia, as well as to the families of the victims.
As they say good neighbors are found treasures, the supply provided by the delegation was to express the long-established close relation of the people and government of Ethiopia and Somalia and its citizens who suffered huge losses due to the terrorist attack, NISS mentioned.
NISS added that Ethiopia sent medical supplies following the call of the President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamed, to the international community to support the victims of the terrorist attack.
Somalia’s Minister of Health, Dr. Ali Haji Adem received Ethiopia’s medical equipment support.
It was also stated that Ethiopia will continue to strengthen its cooperation and partnership with Somalia’s peace and security institutions so that similar actions cannot be repeated.
More than 100 people were reportedly killed and 300 people were injured in the attack carried out by Al-Shabaab terrorist group on Saturday, October 29, 2022.
