Addis Ababa, January 27, 2023 (FBC) – Ethiopian Investment Commission Deputy Commissioner, Temesgen Tilahun, participated in the first Annual Assembly of African Investment Promotion Agencies (IPA) organized by Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) in Accra under the theme of “the role of IPAs in facilitating Inter-African trade in the framework of AfCFTA”.
The assembly discussed ways to promote Africa as a primer most reliable brand sustainable investment destination for investors by improving the capacity of IPAs to attract, retain and expand investment.
The assembly stressed the need for advocacy work to facilitate access to funding, technical assistance, and support to African IPAs to assure increased ease of doing business in Africa and ways to formulate investment-friendly policies and strategies.
The IPAs General Assembly, according to the Ethiopian Investment Commission (EIC), will establish an African association of IPAs in its forthcoming meeting. The assembly was attended by high-level Ghanaian government officials, IPAs heads, WAIPA directors, and ACFTA, AFDB, and UNIDO officials.
