Ethiopia-Pakistan Scientific Diplomacy Forum in the pipeline

Addis Ababa, June 29, 2021 (FBC) – Pakistan has expressed interest to see establishment of Ethiopia-Pakistan Scientific Diplomacy Forum with a view to realize joint experience sharing platform.

Pakistan Ambassador to Ethiopia, Shozab Abbas discussed with officials of Innovation and Technology Ministry on ways how to create cooperation between the two countries in science and technology sector.

The ambassador recommended for signing of trilateral MoU between the Ethiopian Innovation and Technology Ministry, Pakistan Science and Technology Ministry and COMSATS University of Islamabad for realization of the joint collaboration.

According to the Ambassador, the forum to be established will focus on environmental protection and water technology areas.

State Minister of Innovation and Technology, Dr. Ahmedin Mohammed expressed Ethiopia’s interest for the establishment of the forum and pledge commitment of the government to provide the necessary support for the process.

The State Minister said the forum will have a crucial importance to exchange experiences and best practices between the two countries in the science and technology sector pledging Ethiopia’s commitment to share its achievements in the sector.

Dr. Ahmedin expressed gratitude to the Pakistani Ambassador for his unreserved commitment in briefing the world community on Ethiopia’s fair and reasonable approach on utilization of the Nile River and significance of GERD for regional economic cooperation.
