Addis Ababa, September 8, 2024 (FBC) – Ethiopia needs full-fledged sovereignty which should be sustained by sacrifice, Deputy Prime Minister said in his statement regarding “Sovereignty Day”.
Today, September 8, is being marked as “Sovereignty Day” throughout the country with various events.
“To safeguard the national sovereignty earned through blood, we must ensure our economic, technological, intellectual, and financial independence,” Mr. Temesgen noted in a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
According to him, true freedom cannot coexist with dependency, nor can a proud history align with a diminished global standing or national dignity with reliance on foreign aid.
Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen underlined that Ethiopians must work to achieve full and lasting sovereignty.
