Ethiopia, Myanmar discuss ways of forging mutually beneficial cooperation

Addis Ababa, July 10, 2024 (FBC) – The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the Union of Myanmar explored avenues to further strengthening the existing bilateral relations by forging a mutually beneficial cooperation.

This story developed after the meeting between Ethiopia’s Ambassador to Myanmar with permanent residence in Tokyo, Daba Debele, and Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Mr. U Than Swe, on Tuesday.

Ambassador Daba traveled to the capital of Myanmar, Nay Pyi Taw, to present a copy of his letter of credence to the Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of Myanmar, U Than Swe.

During the meeting, U Than Swe congratulated the Ethiopian Ambassador for his appointment as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, with residence in Tokyo.

They cordially exchanged views on matters pertaining to the strengthening of existing bilateral relations between Myanmar and Ethiopia, mutually beneficial cooperation, including trade and investment sectors, and enhancement of collaboration in the regional and international arenas.

According to the Southeast Asian nation’s Ministry of Information, Ambassador Daba was also hosted separately by Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. U Lwin Oo, yesterday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar in Nay Pyi Taw.
