Ethiopia may extend 6th general election by weeks

Addis Ababa, May 13, 2021 (FBC) – National Electoral Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) announces a decision to extend the 6th general election by weeks, according to EBC.

The upcoming election may be extended by a period of up to two or three weeks as of today, the board said.

NEBE is conducting consultative meeting with leaders of contending political parties on the voters’ registration process.

It is also expected that the board will pass decision to hold the poll in Addis Ababa and Dire Dawa City Administrations in the same day with the national election schedule.
