Addis Ababa, August 8, 2020 (FBC) – Ethiopia has launched Major City and Critical Care improvement program on Saturday.
Minister of Ministry of Health, Dr. Lia Tadesse announced the program has been launched in 5 major cities of the country in collaboration with City Administrations, University Hospitals and Regional Health Bureaus.
The launch of the program is aimed to ensure delivery of timely care and build resilience in the health system, realize collaborative learning and citywide coordination and facilitate pre-hospital services and referral systems, Dr. Lia explained.
It will focus on collaborative learning, citywide coordination, pre-hospital services and referral systems.
The Ministry is looking forward to expand access of Major City Emergency and Critical Care service to other cities in the future, according to Dr. Lia.
The Ministry has so far inaugurated Digital Health Innovation and Learning Center at St. Peter Specialized hospital in the capital, Addis Ababa the day before yesterday.
