Ethiopia, Kyrgyzstan explore ways to enhance bilateral relations

Addis Ababa, January 16, 2025 (FMC) – Following discussions between Ambassador Dr. Jemal Beker, Special Envoy, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the kyrgyz Republic, based in Pakistan, and Kyrgyz President and Foreign Minister, a Kyrgyz delegation led by the First Deputy Foreign Minister paid a visit to Ethiopia.

Subsequently, Ambassador Mesganu Arga Moach, Ethiopia’s State Minister of Foreign Affairs, held talks with Asiyen Isaev, the First Deputy Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan.

The discussions focused on strengthening the relationship between Ethiopia and Kyrgyzstan. Kyrgyzstan was invited to open an embassy in Addis Ababa to further enhance its relations with Ethiopia and Africa.

The two countries have a history of mutual support in multilateral forums and agreed to collaborate further within the framework of South-South cooperation.

During the meeting, Deputy Foreign Minister Isaev delivered a message from the Kyrgyz President and presented draft agreements to establish a foundation for bilateral relations.
