Addis Ababa, May 28, 2024 (FBC) – Ethiopia and Kuwait have recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) that will enable them to collaborate on employment opportunities abroad.
The MoU, which was formalized through a labor agreement, was signed by the Minister of Labor and Skills, Muferihat Kamil, and the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Ethiopia, Nayef Hapes Al-Otaibi.
The signing ceremony was attended by senior officials from both countries, including State Ministers for Labor and Skills, Solomon Soka and Daniel Teresa, the Ethiopian Ambassador to Kuwait, Saeed Muhummed, and the Kuwaiti Ambassador to Ethiopia, Naif Hannes Al Otaibi.
The agreement will have significant benefits in creating a cooperative environment where the rights and interests of Ethiopians who are employed in Kuwait will be protected, and they will get legal employment opportunities. This collaboration aims to ensure that Ethiopian workers in Kuwait are treated fairly and have access to legitimate employment opportunities.
