Addis Ababa, August 1, 2022 (FBC) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Demeke Mekonnen received at his office the visiting Foreign Minister of Angola Tete Antonio.
Demeke briefed the Angolan Foreign Minister on confidence building measures Ethiopia has been taking to ensure lasting peace.
He also reaffirmed Ethiopia’s unwavering commitment to strengthen its ties with Angola in several areas of cooperation including partnerships in social and economic spheres.
Ethiopia is commited to bring an end to the dispute over the GERD through peaceful trilateral talks under the umbrella of the AU.
The Angolan Foreign Minister, for his part, appreciated Ethiopia’s resilience and peaceful mechanisms to overcome its own problems, reaffirming commitment of his country to transform the ties between the two countries in various areas of cooperation.
