Ethiopia, Japan sign MoU on infrastructure cooperation

Addis Ababa, January 10, 2020 (FBC) -Ethiopia and Japan have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to cooperate on infrastructure projects.

The MoU was signed today at the second Ethio-Japan high-quality infrastructure conference held in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa.

A 69-member delegation comprising 24 companies led by Minorikawa Nobuhide, State Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan took part in the conference.

The Ethiopian side was headed by Dagmawit Moges, Minister of Transport, and Tazer Gebregzabher, State Minister of Urban Development and Construction.

In her remark, Dagmawit stated that the conference was important in creating conducive environment for Ethiopia to learn from Japan’s rich experience in the sector.

Minorikawa Nobuhide noted his country is ready to work together and support infrastructure projects in Ethiopia by involving Japanese investors.

After reviewing works that have been done so far, the forum discussed on issues that need great attention in the future.
