Ethiopia, Israel vow to enhance cooperation in horticulture, health and education sectors

Addis Ababa, July 21, 2021 (FBC) – In celebration of 30th anniversary of opening of Chancery in Tel Aviv, high officials and members of the diplomatic communities of Ethiopia and Israel held consultative meeting aimed to foster development cooperation between the two countries.

Ambassadors of the two countries, Ethiopian Agriculture State Minister and Health Ministry Advisor and representatives Israel’s Agency for International Development (MASHAV) took part in the discussion.

Ethiopian Ambassador to Israel, Retta Alemu said the consultative meeting was aimed to facilitate similar regular platforms with a view to transform the multifaceted cooperation between the two nations to a higher level.

Appreciating MASHAV’s continued support in agricultural sector of Ethiopia, the Agriculture State Minister Wondale Habtamu stressed need to enhance the ties between the two countries in political, economic and people to people relations spheres.

Head of MASHAV, Ambassador Eynat Shlein, for her part, reiterated Israel’s commitment to further step up technical support to Ethiopia in horticulture, Health and Education sectors.

African Affairs Deputy Director General at Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Eliza MASHAV-led cooperation between the two countries is instrumental to further deepen longstanding ties between Ethiopia and Israel.
