Addis Ababa, October 2, 2022 (FBC) – Ethiopia is home to people with their own indigenous traditions and vibrant culture, said Abbaa Gadaas who celebrated Irreechaa, Hora Harsade, in Bishoftu.
According to Abbaa Gadaa Gobena Holaa, Ethiopians are people with their own indigenous traditions and vibrant culture.
He stated that the Oromo people have Irreechaa, a reflection of their Gadaa system.
He recalled that, on October 1, Irreechaa colorfully celebrated at Hora Finfinnee in Addis Ababa City, where people from different ethnic groups attended, regardless of religion, gender or anything else.
He said that the Abba Gadaas travelled from Tulema Abbaa Gadaa’s office to Hora Harsade, Bishoftu.
Abbaa Gadaa Gobanaa added that Irreechaa is inclusive and peaceful, and it does not distinguish between ethnicity, religion, and other identity.
He said that other Ethiopian brothers and sisters of the Oromo people from Somali, Afar, Amhara, Benishangul, Southern Peoples, and Sidama regions have travelled with them for Irreechaa thanksgiving at Hora Harsade.
Moreover, Abbaa Gadaa Gobanaa Hola extended his wishes for peaceful Ethiopia.
A delegation from neighboring Kenya attended the Hora Harsadi Irreechaa festival at Bishoftu, he confirmed.
