Addis Ababa, October 28, 2022 (FBC) – Ethiopia hosted the prospect of China and Africa cooperation, Youth Leaders’ Forum at Skylight Hotel, Addis Ababa.
The Institute for Peace and Security Studies of Addis Ababa University (AAU IPSS) in collaboration with Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to Ethiopia have organized high level forum on the theme “Prospects of China-Africa Cooperation: Youth Leaders Forum”
The forum aims to discuss on the history and development of Chinese and African youths cooperation, share and learn of China and Africa multi-dimensional relations.
According to the Ministry of Women and Social Affairs-Ethiopia (MoWSA), the discussion specifically advised on people-to people, business-to-business, government-to-government and achievements made and lessons gained from China and Africa cooperation are some of the agendas.
On the opening of the forum, Ergogie Tesfaye, Minister of women and Social Affairs, expressed her appreciation of organizers for the timely forum which could aim to strengthening the Ethio-Chinese bilateral as well as the African-Chinese multilateral relations in the area of youth capacity building.
She also, congratulated the Chinese people and the Government of China for successfully accomplishing the congress of the Chinese Communist Party.
On the behalf of government of Ethiopia and MoWSA, Minister Ergogie extended her congratulation and best wishes to Chinese president, Xi Jinping, for his re-election for 3rd term.
While addressing keynote, the Minister stated about historical bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries as well as African nations.
These strong relations should continue to youths who can take over nations’ responsibility and manage a huge unexploited natural resources and indigenous knowledge through enhancing the capacity of IT and digitalization, she said.
On the forum, Ambassador Zhao Zhiyuan, Wu Peng, DG of African Affairs, Chinese ministry of foreign affairs and Ambassador Tesfaye Yilma, State Minister for political and economic diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia have delivered key note speeches, as per MoWSA.
