Addis Ababa, May 17, 2022 (FBC) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Demeke Mekonnen has delivered Ministry’s nine-months report at the House of Peoples Representative.
During the occasion, Demeke relationship with neighboring countries is given a high priority in Ethiopia’s foreign policy based on mutual interests.
Referring to regional integration, Ethiopia is working to transform its relations with neighboring countries to a high level in bilateral and economic spheres.
The relationship between Ethiopia and Eritrea has been in a better status over the last years, adding that the two countries are working to transform their bilateral relations to strong economic cooperation based on common interests.
According to Demeke, Ethiopia and Eritrea are working in collaboration to enhance partnership in areas of utilization of ports, trade transactions, customs services among others, in a bid to ensure benefit of the two peoples.
Demeke further underscored that members of the Diaspora of Ethiopia and Eritrea have been struggling together through peaceful demonstrations and other mechanisms to defend foreign pressures against the two countries.
