Addis Ababa, October 10, 2022 (FBC) – Ethiopian Electric Power announced that it has earned more than 13 million USD from electric power export to Sudan and Djibouti in the last 2 months.
According to Sales and Customer Manager of EEP’s Marketing & Business Development Department, Minilik Getahun, EEP exported 232.76 million kilowatt-hours of power supply to both countries and collected 13.04 million USD in the process.
According to Minilik, in the last two months, 112.36 million kWh electricity was exported to Sudan for 5.61 million USD and 120.39 million kWh electricity was sold to Djibouti for 7.42 million USD.
He recalled that EEP has also collected more than 2.74 billion Birr income from local energy sales and fiber optic rental in the last 2 months.
