Ethiopia, Denmark discuss agricultural commercialization cluster expansion

Addis Ababa, March 24, 2025 (FMC) — Ethiopia’s Minister of Agriculture, Girma Amente, met with the Danish Ambassador to Ethiopia, Sune Krogstrup, to discuss the Agricultural Commercialization Cluster (ACC) program.

Their discussion focused on the implementation of the second phase of the ACC program, which is being carried out under the Agricultural Transformation Institute with support from the Danish government.

Mr. Girma expressed appreciation for Denmark’s contributions to the expansion of the ACC during the first phase of the program.

For his part, Ambassador Krogstrup highlighted the tangible progress achieved in the regions where the program was implemented and reaffirmed Denmark’s commitment to continuing its support in the second phase.

The first phase of the ACC program was implemented in the Tigray, Amhara, Oromia, Sidama, South West Ethiopia, South Ethiopia, and Central Ethiopia regions. In the second phase, the program will expand to include the Benishangul Gumuz and Somali regions.

The two officials also held extensive discussions on future areas of cooperation and reached a mutual understanding.
