Addis Ababa, September 03, 2022 (FBC) – Cyber Army of Ethiopia, an advocacy platform has urged the public to make a meaningful participation in defending their home country from foreign interference and support the joint Ethiopian forces in a digital campaign.
Cyber Army of Ethiopia International Coordinator, Zelalem Tessema, told reporters that Ethiopians who wish to sustain their country’s peace, unity and sovereignty should join the campaign both in an individual and organized manner.
Ethiopians from all walks of life need to take part in the campaign so as to inform the international community about their country’s objective reality and defend its interests.
Furthermore, the campaign, which also aims to demonstrate support to the joint Ethiopian forces builds citizen’s morale and encourage them to fend off destructive forces and preserve Ethiopia’s existence.
“[Differences] should never get in our ways of defending our nation. It is not right to see idly when destructive forces have waged war and disrupt the peace of the country. We can simply use our phone, join the campaign and fight for our nation.”
According to the Coordinator, every Ethiopian need to react proactively to curtail the T-TPLF and some corrupt media’s disinformation campaign and capitalize on the digital platforms to this end. Not only triggering another round of conflict through underage soldiers, the outlawed group is also looting fuel and food aid from UN warhorses thereby leaving the people of Tigray to death.
The public should uphold collaboration with the government in appealing to the international community to exert pressure on the T-TPLF to come to a round table discussion and actively engage in public diplomacy, he underlined.
