Addis Ababa, April 6, 2020 (FBC) -The Ministry of Health has confirmed one new case of coronavirus (COVID19) out of the 164 samples that were tested over the past 24 hours.
This brings the total COVID19 cases to 44 in Ethiopia.
In a statement issued today, the Ministry said a 65-year-old woman from Dukem town, Oromia regional state, has tested positive for the virus.
She has no travel history abroad, the statement added.
Out of the 44 confirmed cases in Ethiopia, two people have died and four have recovered.
According to the latest figures from Johns Hopkins University, more than 1.2 million cases of coronavirus have been registered globally.
More than 69,000 people have died and more than 264,000 have recovered, according to the university’s figures.
