Addis Ababa, May 20, 2020 (FBC) – Ethiopia has confirmed 24 more COVID 19 cases out of 3,460 samples tested over the last twenty four hours, Ministry of Health disclosed.
All the new cases are Ethiopians their age range from 4 to 57 years old, and 18 of them are male and the remaining 6 are female, the Ministry disclosed.
Among the total new cases, 9 are indentified from Addis Ababa, and 5 out of them have contact with confirmed cases while the remaining 4 without contact with confirmed cases and travel history, the Ministry indicated.
And 7 of the new cases are from Tigray region out of them 4 have travel story and three contact with confirmed cases, one from Mekele and the other six from Maycadra Quarantine centers respectively.
And 8 are from Amhara region with travel history and were quarantined at Metema Quarantine Center.
Furthermore, 2 people have recovered from the disease increasing the number of recoveries in the country to 122.
The laboratory samples were collected from the high- risk community members, returnees, passengers at mandatory quarantine centers, contacts of the confirmed cases, health facility visitors and suspects at isolation centers, the Ministry stated.
The total number of confirmed cases in Ethiopia has reached 389.
