Addis Ababa, May 15, 2020 (FBC) –Ethiopia has confirmed 15 more COVID 19 cases over the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 287.
The new identified cases were out of the 3,707 laboratory tests conducted over the last 24 hours. All the confirmed cases are Ethiopians aged from 17 to 38 years, according to Dr. Lia Tadesse, Minister of Health.
Out of the new cases, 8 are from Addis Ababa, 2 from Guba quarantine in Benshangul Gumuz, one from Afar, one from Meterma quarantine facility in Amhara and from Jigjiga quarantine facility in Somali regional states, she said.
Seven of the new cases have a travel story abroad, while the other seven have contacts with confirmed cases. The other one has neither of the two causes, Dr Lia indicated.
Four patients have recovered from the virus, taking the total number of recoveries to 112. There are now 168 active cases taking treatments in the country.
