Addis Ababa, March 19, 2025 (FMC) — The Fifth Working Party Meeting on Ethiopia’s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) concluded today, marking a significant step in the country’s journey toward integrating into the global trading system.
During this meeting, members of the Working Party reviewed Ethiopia’s #economic policies, investment laws, and foreign trade regimes, underscoring the nation’s readiness to modernize its business framework to align with international standards.
Ethiopian representatives provided comprehensive insights into the country’s ongoing reforms, highlighting the country’s commitment to creating an attractive investment climate.
The discussions emphasized Ethiopia’s strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing transparency, improving regulatory frameworks, and fostering a conducive environment for international businesses.
During the working party meeting, members of the national trade negotiating team were in attendance, including Commissioner of the EIC, Mr.Zeleke Temesgen (PhD), Minister of Trade and Regional Integration; Kassahun Gofe, State Minister of Finance Mr. Eyob Tekalign (PhD), along with other high-ranking officials.
