Addis Ababa, December 6, 2024 (FMC) — Ethiopia-China Film and Tv Festival will be held in Addis Ababa from 20th to 23 December 2024 to foster experience sharing between the two countries.
The festival will be co-organized by YEGoF Entertainment, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Chinese Embassy in Addis Ababa.
In a joint media briefing the organizers gave today, the film festival will spotlight the longstanding diplomatic and cultural ties between Ethiopia and China.
The festival also seeks to establish a BRICS-wide platform, fostering cultural exchange, creative collaboration, and cinematic diversity, it was learnt.
During the festival, selected Ethiopian films and Chinese documentary films will be featured and panel discussions held.
Speaking on the occasion, State Minister of Culture and Tourism, Nefisa Almahdi said the festival will help develop the film industry in the country, enhance people-to-people ties between Ethiopia and China as well as exchange experiences and knowledge in the sector.
She further stated that the event would strengthen people-to-people ties among BRICS countries through film and art.
Culture Counselor Zhang Yawei of Chinese Embassy on her par said the festival would contribute to strengthen ties between the two countries in the areas of culture and art.
The China-Ethiopia Film and TV Festival is an experience exchange forum to foster cooperation and friendship between the two countries, she stated.
The event will create opportunities for Ethiopian film professionals to draw experiences for enhancing the industry in the country, as reported by local news agency ENA.
