Addis Ababa, October 12, 2023 (FBC) – Ethiopia and Chile have agreed to strengthen their collaboration in sharing lessons and experiences and capacity building in the spirit of South-South Cooperation.
That was learned after the discussion between Ms. Ergogie Tesfaye, Minister of Women and Social Affairs of Ethiopia, and Mr. Juan Pino, Director General for Middle East and Africa Affairs of the Foreign Affairs of Chile.
The Minister also also spoke with Mrs. Gloria de la Fuente Gonzalez, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Chile via video call.
The meeting was focused on discussing the common agenda of ensuring gender equality and women’s empowerment. Priority topics for the two countries including enhancing women’s role in leadership and decision-making, addressing gender based violence, women, peace and security and climate change and gender were discussed, according to the Ministry of Women and Social Affairs.
In that regard, the two parties agreed to strengthen their collaboration in sharing lessons and experiences and capacity building in the spirit of South-South Cooperation.
Also joining the meeting were Rodrigo Guzmán, Ambassador of Chile in Ethiopia, Isaac Ramírez, Deputy Head of Mission Embassy of Chile in Ethiopia, and César Castillo, Member of African Economic Affairs of the Vice Ministry of International Economic Relations,
