Addis Ababa, November 5, 2022 (FBC) – Minister for National Security Adviser of the Prime Minister and member of the Ethiopian Peace Committee, Redwan Hussein, briefed members of the diplomatic community based in Addis Ababa regarding the peace agreement between the federal government and TPLF.
Redwan Hussein appreciated the African Union for playing an integral role in the peace agreement. He gave detailed explanation about the issues that have been included in the peace agreement.
The PM’s National Security Adviser mentioned that the two sides are ready to implement the points included in the agreement.
He discussed the agreement of permanent ceasefire, disarmament, establishment of transional administration in Tigray region, restoring of basic services and rebuilding process.
Redwan also revealed that discussion regarding disarmament of TPLF’s combatant’s is scheduled to be held in Nairobi, Kenya.
The PM’s national Security Adviser said that the government is working for the implementation of the peace agreement.
He also recalled that Ethiopia’s friendly countries have welcomed the peace agreement.
Redwan urged friendly countries to support by the government in rebuilding and rehabilitation process in areas affected by the conflict.
