Ethiopia, Botswana to establish Joint Ministerial Committee

Addis Ababa, June 15, 2022 (FBC) – Deputy Head of Ethiopian Embassy in South Africa has met with officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Botswana. The Embassy held a fruitful discussion with Charles Mosale, Director of the Department of Africa and the Middle East at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Botswana.

The discussion provided updates about the current political developments that Ethiopia is undertaking thus far and celebrated partnerships that the two countries will engage in the future. Ethiopia and Botswana enjoyed a longstanding diplomatic relationship for more than three decades.

The two countries are currently establishing a Joint Ministerial Committee and signing a Memorandum of Understanding between Addis Ababa and Gaborone.

Ethiopia appointed an Honorary Consul in 2018 to further strengthen the bilateral relationship. Charles has expressed his commitment to the upcoming Joint Ministerial Commission to be carried out promptly.
