Addis Ababa, February 2, 2021 (FBC) –Ambassador Jamal Beker, Consul General of Ethiopia to Bahrain, yesterday held discussion with Muna Abbas Mahmood, Afro-Asian Affairs Directorate Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain.
Ambassador Jamal held in-depth discussion with the director on ways to strengthen the bilateral political, diplomatic, socio-economic, cultural and regional ties between the two countries.
He also briefed the director on the current situations in Ethiopia, particularly the law enforcement operation conducted in Tigray as well as rehabilitation and humanitarian delivery in the regional state.
He also reaffirmed Ethiopia’s commitment to the AU-led negotiation on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) and its firm stand to resolve the border issue with Sudan peacefully and via the boundary commission.
Muna Abbas Mahmood for her part said Bahrain is keen to strengthen its bilateral and regional ties with Ethiopia, which is a seat for African Union and UN agencies.
Bahrain supports the law enforcement operation held in Tigray regional state and hoped that the differences on GERD and border issue with Sudan would be resolved peacefully, she said.
The two sides also discussed ways to sign labour agreement between the two countries soon and launch Ethiopian Airlines flight to Bahrain and Gulf Airlines to Ethiopia.
