Ethiopia, Angola revive their air service agreement

Addis Ababa, March 8, 2024 (FBC) – The Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority and the National Civil Aviation Authority of Angola signed MoU to revive their existing air service agreement.

Director General of the Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority, Getachew Mengiste and Chairwoman of the National Civil Aviation Authority of Angola, Amelia Domingues Kuvingua have signed the agreement representing their respective countries.

It was stated on the occasion that the air service agreement signed between the two countries 47 years ago allows them for unrestricted flight services over African airspace.

According to the agreement, there is no limit on the number of airlines to be represented, flight routes, types of aircraft and destination points, and there is a green light to fly between Addis Ababa and Angola in the 3rd and 4th regions of Africa and with full 5th traffic rights.

The agreement that will allow represented airlines to operate in partnership with each other and with third parties and exempt them from overlapping taxes.
