Addis Ababa, December 17, 2024 (FMC) – Ethiopia and Tanzania have formalized a collaborative agreement aimed at enhancing cooperation across a range of sectors.
The agreement was finalized during the Ethiopia-Tanzania Joint Ministerial Commission meeting, where both nations reiterated their commitment to collaborative efforts.
Areas of joint focus outlined in the agreement include peace and security, economic development, tourism, agriculture, investment, and more.
Ethiopian Foreign Minister Gedion Timothewos emphasized that this partnership will help mitigate the threats posed by groups like Al-Shabaab and foster peace on the African continent.
In support of stronger bilateral relations, Tanzanian Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, called for the lifting of visa restrictions to enhance connections between the people of the two nations.
