Addis Ababa, July 24, 2024 (FBC) – Ethiopia’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mesganu Arga, met with Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister, Mr. Elio Eduardo Rodrigues Perdomo, in Addis Ababa today.
Ambassador Mesganu welcomed the Cuban delegation and highlighted Cuba’s support for Ethiopia.
He emphasized the need to implement existing bilateral agreements in areas like water management, education, air transport, and trade, and encouraged further cooperation in healthcare and sugar production.
For his part, the Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Mr. Elio Eduardo Rodrigues Perdomo expressed gratitude for Ethiopia’s embassy re-opening in Havana. He reaffirmed Cuba’s commitment to strengthening ties with Ethiopia.
Both sides recognized the potential for expanded cooperation and the importance of solidarity in addressing global challenges.
They concluded by signing a bilateral political consultation agreement, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia.
